    – System Setup ——————————-
Operating System and version: XP Pro, SP1.
    Eclipse version: Version: 2.1.1
    Eclipse Build id: 200306271545
    MyEclipse version: 2.6.4
    Eclipse JDK version: 1.4.2
    Application Server JDK version: 1.4.2
    jboss version: 3.2.3

    – Message Body ——————————-

I was sucesfully managing to deploy my app to JBOSS using the MyEclipse Project Deployment screen. This created a dir in jboss\server\catalina\deploy\myapp.war

I then wrote an ANT build script that I needed for doing testing the creation of my war file. I deleted the jboss\server\catalina\deploy\myapp.war directory and deployed my war to the filename jboss\server\catalina\deploy\myapp.war. Once I was happy that my war file was working OK, I shutdown jboss, deleted the myapp.war file.

I then went back to myeclipse to try and deploy the project using an exploded archive. This did not work properly (sorry, bit vague about this, but can’t quite remember why). Anyway I now have a deployment for Jboss3 with a bang in a triangle to left of it. However this deployment is now stuck there, I can’t redeploy or remove it. I was hoping I’d be able to remove it and start over again. Every time I click on the remove button a dialog pops up and disappears so quickly I am unable to read the contents of the dialog.

    Richie,
I have run into this problem myself before. Can you restart Eclipse and see if that works? Also please copy paste the contents of <eclipse install dir>\workspace\.metadata\.log into here for us so we can see what exception that dialog is throwing (if any).

boy, do I feel stupid! That restart did the job. 😳

I think I know what was going on here. When I came to redeploy again using the manage deployment dialog I was prompted as to whether I wanted to delete the existing deployment. I hit yes, but I suspect I must have had a Windows Explorer open in that directory that prevented it from being properly deleted. I think I am right in saying that would not happen under unix/linux.

Anyway, thanks for the prompt reply.

No problem, glad you are up and running again.
