    Hi folks,

I recieved an email announcing that 5.0 was GA, downloaded Eclipse 3.2 and downloaded MyEclipse 5.0 and ran the upgrade. So far so good…

I started up the workbench and discovered that all of the menu selection items were greyed out except the “upgrade my subscription” one. Hmmm…

Doublechecked my subscription and I’m not due to renew until October, so that ain’t it…

Is there a “different license” for 5.0 from the previous versions?

    Peter,

There’s no different license. I’m concerned that you said you “upgraded” because that makes me think you overlayed a previous install of an earlier version. Please have a look at the installation instructions in the announcement here. If you think you installed according to those instructions, then the issue is likely that the Eclipse plugin cache got stale as it sometimes does not cleanly rebuild after updates. To rectify the problem you’ll need
to restart Eclipse with the -clean flag one time: eclipse.exe -clean

If that doesn’t work, please post the output of the menu command: MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details and we’ll work from there.

Actually before I did my “upgrade” I moved the original version of Eclipse out of the way as a backup and untarred the new Eclipse. Then I removed my original MyEclipse and ran the installer fresh.

    Did I leave anything out?

o restart Eclipse with the -clean flag one time: eclipse.exe -clean

This got me a litlle further and now I have a new annoyance that I’m dealing with. When I right click on a directory, pull down “New” I see there are two new menu itemss. “HTML (Advanced Templates)”
and “JSP (Advanced Templates)” Niether one seems to do anythnig at this point.

I’m running the Linux version of the toolset.
