    Hi,

We are currently using MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench Version 6.0.0 GA. We want to upgrade this to newer version. Need your inputs to decisde best options available:

    1) Is version 6.0.0 GA too old to be used for enterprise development?
    2) what latest version this should be upgraded to?
    3) Can/Should we directly jump to Workbench 9?

Any and all inputs are solicited, This will help us in making correct choise. I understand I am not mentionig about features we are using (or planned to use), I hope without this decision can be arrived at.

    Regards
    Sunil

    Sunil,

You are on ME 6.0.0GA, the stable version on that release is ME 6.6. MyEclipse 6.x is based on Eclipse Europa, whereas ME 9.x is based on Eclipse – Helios. You can keep the current copy of ME 6.x and also install ME 9.0 M1. It is advisable to use the latest version of ME since this contains a lot of software upgrades and newer features support.
In case you wish to use the same license key on your new system, please ensure only one instance of ME with the same license is running at a time. You can install MyEclipse using either of the below mentioned options –

    1. Download and install all-in-one installer from MyEclipse download site here – http://myeclipseide.com/module-htmlpages-display-pid-4.html Accept the license agreement and click on the download link of the version you would like to download.
    2. Install using pulse, instructions mentioned here – https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/installation-how-to-install-myeclipse-from-pulse/&highlight=
    3. Install using archived update site – https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/installation-install-myeclipse-using-archived-update-site/&highlight=
Please note that the FAQs are not based on ME 8.6/9.0M1, please use 8.6/9.0M1 wherever applicable.
