This random behaviour has appeared to our team in two different computers, with versions 5.1 and 5.5: sometimes (we haven’t been able to infer any common pattern) our user libraries “become empty”. I mean, at the package explorer you can’t expand user libraries (‘+’ sign even doesn’t appear), and it won’t compile. Restarting the IDE make them appear again…

Try restating MyEclipse using -clean command.

Let me know if this problem appears again.

I too have this bug consistenly and right now even restarting the IDE isn’t alleviating my issues. I am running the OS X version of MyEclipse and have added the -clean option (saw how on the article provided by IBM.)

    Is this an open issue?

Has this been issued in newer versions??

In my enterprise we pay MyEclipse, and this is becoming a big wasted time problem…

This is a known problem with the base eclipse platform: https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/disappearing-user-libraries/&highlight=

We will stay on top of this bug and as soon as Eclipse fixes this issue, we will make sure it will reflect in MyEclipse as well.

This might have bitten me as well, only in a different way:

I have a plugin (adapted from the one available on the developerworks pages) which provides a classpath container with automatic source lookup from a repository directory.

Only for some reason Eclipse believed that certain jar files which it provides do not actually exist.

I cannot at the moment reliably reproduce it but it tended to happen, but only with a MyEclipse web project, not with normal Java projects.

    BR,

    Robert
