Hi, I want to use two development configurations: one plain eclipse and one myeclipse.

Is it a way to configure this in order to be sure that when I start the plain eclipse no myeclipse component or file gets involved (other than unistaling it, of course)?
I wouldn’t mind each of them pointing to its own workspace.

    Thanks,
    Juan

    Juan,
You can setup two seperate installations of eclipse and have MyEclipse installed over just one of them.

If you would rather have just one eclipse installation then you can temporarily disable MyEclipse extention by going to Window > Software Updates > Manage Configuration and then right clicking on the MyEclipse extention point and choosing disable. (You will have to enable it from this same location ). Please make sure that you run eclipse with “-clean” after disabling. This is not a recommended workaround if you have the space to spare for two eclipse installations.

    Kapil,

That sounds like the “natural” way to do it.
The reason I was looking for another is that I read somewhere (maybe it was for an older eclipse version?) that it was convenient to run eclipse from a directory called “eclipse”, and in that case that would involve directory renames at each switch.

So I assume from your reply this is not the case anymore. Right?

    Thanks again,
    Juan
