I am using the latest ME5.1/E3.2. With the ME default prefs re:validation, frequently (but not always) during a build or Ant deploy (seemingly at random but especially if any other ME/E multitasking is going on) the ME html/JSP/etc. validator(s) gets stuck. You cannot cancel any of the validations going on, but they will run forever. You cannot complete any other tasks either, so you try to close ME. ME will exit – but the progress meter for the validation still shows up. If you try to cancel or close that, it will persist. I’ve had to kill the java process and even THAT won’t stop the validation, at least not right away until many minutes have gone by. Then I ran ME -clean but the validator still tried to keep going! I had to reboot and disable validation in ME prefs to do any work.

Why doesn’t the validator cancel button work on these if they get stuck?

I’ve seen this happen in an older build, but I’m filing an issue to have this looked into to see why cancelling isn’t work, sorry for the annoyance in the mean time.
