JosefBMemberHello,
when working with myEclipse I often have 6-10 editor windows open.
Unfortunately, the window titles are very stupidly composed of:
JavaScript / The project name / The file name.Well, I do know and thus do NOT need to be told that I am working
a) on JavaScript and
b) on the current projectboth is completely useless information (the case that one has several projects open is most likely the rare exception and even then the file names should tell)
But what I MUST see is the file name but this is not shown in the little icons on the task bar where I can / have to choose the window that I am looking for.
The guy who designed this obviously never using his own tool and/or never switched on his brain before implementing this.
Is there any way to remove the useless parts of the window title and to focus on what really matters, the file name?
This would save me a lot of time and even more frequent frustration.
Thank you
jb
support-tonyKeymasterJosef,
I’m afraid that there isn’t much that can be done about this. It’s probably annoying because you are using multiple windows rather than multiple editors in one window (as I mentioned in another of your topics).
If you need multiple windows, then the title shows the perspective name followd by the full project path of the file currently being edited. It’s possible to shorten the perspective name (by clicking on Window->Save Perspective and then providing another name; close the perspective and then open the saved perspective).
Within a single editor area in one window, each file is shown on a separate tab, with only the file name on the tab. If you have more editors than there is room for tabs, there is a button to the right of the last displayed tab to show a list of all editors for you to chose from.
Please let us know if this helps.
