Hello everyone. I’ve been searching for a development platform like this for awhile and just came across MobiOne. So far what I see looks really good. My needs are more video oriented and I haven’t found a lot of info on including VOD and live streams to an app. I need a platform that can read and parse rss and mrss feeds that include MP4 videos and can also stream live HLS streams. Has anyone had real success reading rss feeds and displaying the results in a list so the user can select a video and play it? I’ve searched and read a couple old threads about possibly doing this, but nothing that really demonstrates the whiole process. I should point out that I’m familiar with HTML and CSS, but not so much the Javascript. It looks like writing Javascript is pretty much manditory to accomplish anything in MobiOne’ so I’d like to see more javascript code widgets available so a developer could pick from a whole group of tasks and then modify the widget as needed.

My question is is MobiOne the environment for my needs?

Yes I do have the rss feeds available. They are still being developed so the items may change before they go live, but I know how the basic framework will consist of.

On the project I’m working on now, there is one master XML feed that will contain data that will point to individual XML feeds. The master will contain a few basic items such as title,desc,image and feed URL. There are several sets of these items in the master feed. Each individual feed will include similar tags along with a URL to the mp4 video.

My thought is to create an app that will have a video button on the home screen which creates a screen with a list of items from the master feed. When a specific video is selected, a video player will begin playing.

Thats a simplified version of what I’m thinking.

My time has been limited lately so I haven’t been able to play with the MobiOne beta app as much as I wanted. Unfortunately, the beta is set to expire on June 1 so if you think MobiOne is a good solution for developing an app like this then I don’t mind spending the money on the software.

I really like what you’ve done with providing a design environment for html5, CSS and JavaScript. Unfortunately I’m not up to speed on my js skills, but Im sure the support is readily available. I’ve looked at a lot of competing app builders and MobiOne seems to offer the best value. Some are cheaper and some more expensive, but I think MobiOne hits the sweet spot.

So that’s where I’m at with this project. Thanks again for your comments.
