Hi Wayne,
I sent a long post in here back on Dec 8,2012 regarding how to tie all this new mobile tech stuff into working with java back end servers primarily a Spring solution, etc. I have purchased both MobiOne and MyEclipseForSpring.

It seems you are combining both of these products into MyEclipse 2013?
1). Is this correct?
2). Will I finally be able to create Spring RESTful web services and tie them into front end Cordova/PhoneGap apps under one roof
3). Will I be able to make everything talk and test/step-thru/debug together in one environment?
4) Will I be able to have my javascript files in their as well and debug the front end mobile/html5 client as well??
5). If I paid for MyEclipseForSpring — does this then allow me few access to these since I purchased it on 12/26?

I have been struggling looking for the best solution to develop mobile clients… All these different js frameworks and options I have been paralyzed to some extent. One of the things we use to do with technologies was getting everything communicating first. Hopefully this is what you guys have finally done and we are able to access and use April 1.

MyEclipse 2013 to be shipped in a week or so is the benefactor of MobiOne R&D. The 2 products will grow much closer throughout this year and onward as we develop a synergy between them and their respective communities. The initial release MyEclipse 2013 will include an early-access 1 of the new mobile developer tools. So it will represent an introductory feature set and we have a long roadmap of cool features and technologies that we will rapidly developing.

The mobile tools will be available to subscribers of MyEclipse Professional, Spring, Blue and Bling versions, i.e., all but Standard edition. ME ’13 will support development of JEE/Spring web service. Then the interface to your mobile app. The entire front and back-ends can be from within MyEclipse including a new simulator that supports the cordova/phonegap ver 2 apis. What is missing from MyEcilpse ’13 that is available in MobiOne is the visual designer and code-gen. ME ’13 mobile tools will include project templates for jquery mobile and other frameworks to bootstrap your app development effort.

Overall we think this is a big step forward for both products as we will be integrating the simulator in MobiOne asap.

Thanks for the info – I will wait to download myeclipse for spring with it on April 1st.

Since you said the codegen and the visual designer will NOT be in myeclipse — will you be able to import a code generated phonegap solution from mobione into myeclipse for development from there on? I guess if you are not able to have a WYSWYG phone gap editor in myeclipse what is it giving for advantages unless you can import code generated from mobione and load and test it and modify inside eclipse editors?
