Hello, I am a subscribed customer and I whould like to know how to bundle in a war or ear file a mix of ejb and struts because the struts layer uses some classes of the ejb package.

This could be easyly be done by defining an ant task but I bought the My Eclipse IDE to generate it to me, not ant.

Please I need this urgent, I’ve lost a day of work thinking how to play with these features but it is too complicated.

I want to deliver to my customer the war file with the needed libraries and the needed references to the ejb layer in a different file, so then I can be able to run struts layer on tomcat and let the ejb layer relying on jboss and or weblogic.

    Thanks and best regards,

Presently, MyEclipse does not support splitting a project into separate deployable WAR and EJB archives. The only model is to create an Enterprise project consisting of an Web and EJB projects. But the deployment model is an EAR not the separable deployments that you describe.

Let’s say you want to distribute the Web project as WAR and the EJB as a standard JAR. First you can test the functionality by packaging as an intermediate EAR composed of a WAR and EJB jar (make sure not to use local interfaces). This lets you debug and get all kinks worked out.

Now you’re ready to package for distribution across multiple servers. The deployer will package the EJB Jar without issue. But its not it’s not yet smart enough to identify the EJB interfaces and DO/VO’s required by the web-side elements of a WAR. So rather than use the deployer for a packaging your web project we create a jar description that recursively includes the contents of the web project’s web-root folder and the public EJB side interfaces and classes.

    I hope this helps.
