    Hi,
I put properties files such as log4j.properties and spring properties under the classes directory under WEB-INF. But these are getting erased after each automatic build. I don’t know if this is an eclipse issue or myeclipseide. I should be able to set up filters for this, but I don’t know where to look.

Yea these need to go into your /src dir. Your output dir (/classes in this case) is always erased before a rebuild.
