    Hello

I don´t manage to change the internal webbrowser from IE to Mozilla/Firefox/Opera. (MyEclipse 4.1 trail based on Eclipse 3.2 running on Win2000SP4 ie6) OK, the ie is needed for live-preview in webedevelopment-perspective, but I want any other browser to view documentation inside Eclipse (and use their features like zoom, mouse-gestures, etc).

Changing the preferences General -> Webbrowser and MyEclipse -> Internet Tools -> Web Browser to firefox.exe did not have any effect. Still the webbrowser-view uses awful ie. Non-IE browser are apparently used on Linux and MacOS too, so why don´t they work on Windows?

    greetings

    Al

    Al,
Unfortunately the browser preference doesn’t have much of an effect. The Browser view itself is based on the SWT Browser widget which is tied specifically to a browser on each platform, not a free-form container for any browser widget. On Windows that happens to be IE.
