Hi
Can anyone pls give the full list of settings that need to go into the weblogic8 preferance tab to enable startup from myeclipse.
The FAQ seems to have an outdated preferance tab that does not enable
WLS to start up .Thanks

Seems ok to me. I just followed it to set up my WLS 8.1 instance. Perhaps it’s the non-standard directory names throwing you off, but the relative paths appear correct. In case it helps, here’s a screenshot of my config that I just tested:

A few thoughts from my end.I got wls8.1 up and running after great difficulty. I have made the following changes to the default wls8.1 installation. Add a user_projects directory under the BEA_home direcotry. Now create a domain called mydomain . I did this from my console – start – programs – bea weblogic platform8.1- configuration wizard. I did a normal domain creation (ie without extending any of the domains that bea provides ) . I have called this domain as mydomain. Also the weblogic username and password i used are weblogic and weblogic respectively , the above slide shows admin , password. This did nt work for me. I hope this will help someone starting out on myeclipse. thanks.

It sounds like the main difference is that when you installed WebLogic you didn’t also tell it to create a domain for you and accept all the defaults as I did. Part of the confusion might also be that MyEclipse doesn’t create your WebLogic domains for you. You need to do that yourself and they need to be usable when WebLogic is launched from the commandline. What we provide is an ability to launch and debug those same, working domains from within Eclipse.
