    Hi,

I’ve been trying use MyEclipse to create projects that are deployable on WAS 4 (which runs J2EE 1.2). It appears that MyEclipse versions 5.1 and 4.1 only support J2EE 1.3 and 1.4. But even when I edited the relevant xml files in the EAR and Web projects (which are the only ones in my test) to make them compatible with the J2EE 1.2 requirements, I couldn’t get the WAS 4 server to install the EAR that I created from MyEclipse, it complains that it’s an invalid archive.

Is there a way to use MyEclipse with WAS 4? The reason I thought to give it a try in the first place was the fact that it provides a WAS 4 plugin. I decided to conduct a little testing before recommending the tool to my entire development team, but so far it doesn’t seem workable. Please help.

    Thanks,
    George

I was hoping to get a response on this. It’s odd that the subject is being avoided by the support team.

It’s not unreasonable to assume that, since MyEclipse offers a WAS 4 plugin, that it should support development on that platform. So does it? If so, where’s the support for J2EE 1.2?
