    Hi,

I just installed myeclipse 7.5M1, and I can’t set the window working set. Usually i have a submeny in Window where i can set the global working set, which is then picked up by all the views if they are configured that way.

In myeclipse this entry is gone. I have searched through the preferences. I have been looking on the web and on these forums for hours. I know it’s a setting somewhere because i did it for myeclipse 7.1 but the search engine here is so lame that i can’t find it.

Can someone please help me out?

    Thanks

    Hi loteq,

I think you have used window working set in MyEclipse 6.X versions. You’ll find this feature in Eclipse 3.3 and in Eclipse 3.4 it is removed. As you know that MyEclipse 7.X is inherited from Eclipse 3.4, we don’t find this feature in MyEclipse 7.X versions.

It is still there, i have used it in 7.1

The working sets are everywhere, if you care to watch, the only place they are missing is in the window menu.

You can use working sets in the project explorer for instance. but the ability to define the window working set has been hidden.

My bad. You can add Working set by following these steps.

    1. Click on Window > Customize Perspectives.
    2. Select command tab
    3. Scroll down to select Window Working Set. Select the checkbox and click on [OK]

    You should be all set.

    support-joy,

FYI, and for other people who need this functionality, the window working set menu entry can be show just by doing this:

Window > customize perspective commands tab. check window working set in available command groups section

As i said workling sets are everywhere and are used by many views. It makes no sense to take away the only feature that makes working sets manageable, the window working set.

    You’re welcome.
