Can MyEclipse be extended to provide WYSIWYG support for custom JSP tags?
Where would I find documentation about that?

We’re working on it for 4.0, although it hasn’t made the milestone builds yet. I’d suggest you wait until we put out the next release (4.0M3) and try out the visual JSP editor, and then comment on what you like and what more you’d like to see in the future.

You have been promising the WYSIWYG JSP editor for months now. When do you *really* expect it to be available? (there is no shame in saying “we do not know”).

Oh, we know. We have it working internally and are currently working on a couple of performance issues. It will ship it as part of 4.0 final, and very likely in 4.0M3, just before that.

During July (no later than the 22nd) I will be evalutation new IDEs for our development team; with the primary focus of finding JSP WYSIWYG support.

What are the chances of being able to include MyEclipse 4.0 M3+ in that evalutation?

I’d say very high. We’ll be doing one more milestone / RC build and it should hit very close to then. Closer to time, shoot me a private message on the forums and I’ll have better info on timing.
