    Running eclise 3.1.2/ MyElipse 4.1.1 on Windows XP
    jdk 1.4.2 is only jdk installed

    Xdoclet is failing on ejb project with message
    ava.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: xjavadoc/ant/XJavadocTask (Unsupported major.minor version 49.0)

    I am attempting to create a simple stateless session bean for jboss

    Go to the MyEclipse-XDoclet page of your project properties (Right-click project). Under XDoclet switch to Build tab and change the Java Language support to Java 1.4.2. Then you should be able to run XDoclet with no problems.
