I think, that support for writing XDoclet2 plugins (plugins FOR xdoclet2, I mean) would be very beneficial for many users.

Under this I understand the following:
    – support for Velocity templates generating Java code with Java support on the Java parts of the template perhaps (no such plugin yet, Veloedit supports Velocity highlighting)
    – support for Jelly templates generating XML code (no such plugin yet, Veloedit plugin supports Velocity highlighting)
    – support for Velocity templates generating HTML code (look at Veloeclipse plugin)

Also support for launching XDoclet2 (menu items and necessary jars in the classpath of the respective Eclipse plugin, maybe an XDoclet2 builder) would be beneficial as well.

    Rob,

We are commited to supporting XDoclet at greater levels. We are conducting feature enhancement research now and will be making decisions in the next couple of weeks.

Please don’t take a non-reply on this forum to mean anything. Since it’s the Enhancement forum, it’s really for our users to brainstorm about things they’d like to see. All the posts are read and are part of our product planning process. However, for larger enhancements such as this we often like to see who else piles on the idea to gauge how popular such a feature will be in the community. We have a limited development staff so every feature we add right now means there’s another 10 we don’t. As a result, we need to propritize very carfully.

Well, actually what I meant was the nonexistent replies from other users, which implies that there are not too many people out there eager to get this, therefore it would not be prioritized as important.

Also I was referring not on XDoclet, but on XDoclet2 which is a bit different kind of animal. (Is this said in English as well? (I translated it word by word from Hungarian))
