Somewhere in one of the Eclipse updates recently, I seem to have picked up an XERCES conflict.

Now, every time I try to install a plug-in, I get this error from MyEclipse:

    Duplicate Conflicts

IApache Xercese with the update/install, the resulting configuration will contain
Dupduplication conflicts that may cause parts of the product to be unusable. Do
    you want to continue?

    Detected conflicts:

    Apache Xerces
    Version 2.8.0.v20060926-0959 in /C:/Program Files/eclipse/
    Version 2.8.0.zmyeclipse_5_1_1_20070302 in /C:/Program Files/MyEclipse5/eclipse/

    —————————

Should I delete one of these xerces installs?

In the C:/Program Files/eclipse directory, for example, I have this file:

    C:\Program Files\eclipse\features\org.apache.xerces.feature_2.8.0.v20060926-0959

    ————————

In C:/Program Files/MyEclipse5/eclipse/, I saw two files that may be candiates:

    C:\Program Files\MyEclipse5\eclipse\features\org.apache.xerces.feature_2.8.0.zmyeclipse_5_1_1_20070302

    C:\Program Files\MyEclipse5\eclipse\plugins\org.apache.xerces_2.8.0.zmyeclipse_5_1_1_20070302

    —————————-

I haven’t noticed any issues yet, but this isn’t a good screen to see each time I install a plug-in.

    Look forward to any suggestions.

    Thanks.

    Mork,

You simply have two xerces plugins installed that are the same build, but built on different dates. There’s nothing to be concerned about; you can safely ignore the warning. Please don’t try to manually delete anything or likely you really will have a problem. 😉
