    Hi Scott,

When I try to run the MyEclipse XML Editor to edit an XML file such as web.xml, I get an error box saying “An error has occurred. See error log for details.” I get a tab for the XML file, but it doesn’t seem to work. Any idea what the problem is?

One other piece of info – I can edit XSD files just fine! The editor takes a while to start up, but it works OK. If I rename an XML file to have a .xsd extension, then I can edit it OK. The problem is just with files with .xml extensions.

    I am using Eclipse 3.1.0, MyEclipse version 4.0 milestone 2 and J2EE 1.4 SDK.

    Jim,

Based on the log you sent us, your installation is corrupted. Did you try to upgrade an existing installation to 4.0M2 in some way rather than installing a “fresh” copy on a new install of Eclipse 3.1 final (not an M or RC build)? It looks like that’s the case and simply starting with a new 3.1 install and then installing 4.0M2 to point to it should correct the issue.

I am having the same issue. Installed the latest MyEclipse Build id: 20050627-4.0-Milestone-2
on a fresh downloaded Eclipse Version: 3.1.0, Build id: I20050627-1435.
    JVM: j2sdk1.4.2_06

    Error Log:
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: com.genuitec.eclipse.core.ViperCore.Ä“(Z)Z
    at org.xmen.ui.text.XMLTextEditor.init(Unknown Source)
