The xml editor is reporting errors in a docbook document I have. The errors do not show in the “problem” view, the only way I can see them seems to be a hover over the error icon in the margin or ruler.
The errors seem to be content errors, which on a largish DTD like docbook gives a long error, which doesn’t fit on the screen, or scroll, or have the usual “press F2 to for focus”, so I have no way to read the entire error.

    Regards
    Brett

    Brett,
Go down to your problems view, click the down arrow in the top right corner go to Filters… click Select All and hit OK. The other reason the errors might not be showing up is that your error limit has been hit, you can check for a message saying that as well in the problems view.

If you right clickon the docbook file and Validate it, does it validate ok? How does the error that is being shown start off? Have you tried resizing the Eclipse window so it is tiny, and then mousing over the red marker to see the entire tooltip?

    Riyad,
Thanks for the response. I hadn’t spotted the extra problem types that are added, they were disabled. I can now see the problems in the problem view.
Regarding the tooltip, when I mouse over the problem marker the tooltip is much wider than the screen (partly we have small screens here), resizing eclipse didn’t help me, a good portion of the tooltip is drawn off the edge of the screen. It would be nice if this wrapped to the screen size. However having the errors in the problem view solves my immediate problem.
    thanks
    Brett
