    hi guys

I’d like to know how to validate a xml file. The problem is that I’ve set validation option in MyEclipse, and everything is ok till I start the app.
then it gives me a parse error. the file in question is a hibernate mapping.
    am running Eclipse v 2.1.1, myEclipse v 2.6.2 and Win2000.
    thanks in advance

    Patria,

First, I assume the XML file in question has a referenced DTD? Naturally, we’ll need that for validation to function properly. Where is the XML file located? Our deployment descriptor validators are restricted to only work on XML files that are in META-INF or WEB-INF directories.

hi Scott. the dtd file is within a jar file which is locate in WEB-INF directory.
i tried the xmlbuddy plugin which performs the validation but it interferes with the jsp editor from myeclipse
    cheers

I’m not up on XLMBuddy. Is it contributing its own JSP editor? If yes you can change the editor that is associated with *.jsp and related file extensions in the Window>Preferences>Workbench>File Associations.
