Thank you, Eclipse Foundation for another awesome EclipseCon event!

Our team is back, albeit a touch jet-lagged, but excited to ride the wave of new connections made from the conference. This year's EclipseCon Europe had a little bit of everything! Circe du Eclipse, competitive tower building, and awesome conversations with folks about Genuitec technologies.

ssi-schafer-logoBefore we get to some of that, we’d like to say a humongous ‘Thank You’ to SSI Schäfer for taking the time to join us at EclipseCon. As a customer, they lent our table the expertise on scaling the Eclipse platform by using Secure Delivery Center to meet delivery needs. Thank you for joining us!

B1CjSH7IYAENJyv.jpg-largeEclipseCon Europe has built quite the reputation for being the most fun of the Eclipse conferences. And it’s true! The overall vibe of EclipseCon Europe is certainly more engaging. Attendees and vendors are more eager to learn and party in a easygoing setting while sharing their Eclipse open source passions. This is of course made easier with cool networking sessions weaved into the conference and the addition of Circe du Eclipse. Really, what could be more fun at a conference than getting to enjoy a beer with fellow technology junkies while watching amazing acrobatics. Nothing helps break the ice better than having people on stilts at your booth!

imgo-2Every year we do a fun giveaway at our booth as a another way to start conversations. This year we gave away two Ollie app-control robots from the GoSphero team.. wow! We're they quite a hit. Roughly 100 people were vying to grab an Ollie, and even more simply wanted to play with it. Apparently getting a chance to play with a robot is a big win with Eclipse developers. Congrats to Franz Polzer and Philip Wenig on being our lucky winners - we hope you are enjoying Ollie!

imgoWe also want to give a shout out to Obeo, who was across from us in the exhibit hall. Obeo had these awesome little blocks that you could build towers with and it became a fun challenge for our team during lulls in the exhibit hall. It also brought out a streak of competitiveness between Emanuel and Tamara (sales reps). Here’s a fun picture of Tamara getting ready to clobber Emanuel for attempting to knock down her beautiful tower.

Our team has been attending EclipseCon Europe for nearly 5 years. Every year we meet new people with new challenges, but one of the coolest things about EclipseCon is the familiar faces. It’s a very tightly knit community, so when you attend you see people who’ve known for years. You have the opportunity to build relationships with attendees and really dig in to how they’ve met challenges. You learn what works and what doesn’t. It’s a highly rewarding experience and one we don’t take lightly. Specifically for us, it’s been a great chance to foster communications with key players in the Eclipse space. You can definitely expect to see us next year!

Thank you EclipseCon Europe for another spectacular show! We look forward to connecting with you next in San Francisco and again back in Europe in 2015.
