Is there anyway to get a theme with a light background – say white for example. I cannot read anything without a great deal of strain with the dark themes. I tried every theme listed in Preferences…General…Appearance…Color Theme and they all are dark background.
I also tried importing a theme from eclipsecolorthemes.org, but the imports all failed. I will have to use UltraEdit or some other editor until Angular IDE provides a light background theme.

Sorry that you are seeing problems with the darkest dark theme.
You can switch to a light theme from here : Preferences > General > Appearance. Select a different ‘Theme’ for a light background. The Color Theme page is only for editor colors.

If possible, can you please send us a screenshot of the dark theme to help us verify if the dark theme is applied correctly at your end?
