    Sorry for the long delay on this, with the 5.0 porting work smaller fixes like this tend to get swept under the rug, I’m going to bump it and see if we can get it going for post 5.0 release.

    Anything we can do in the meantime as a work-around (without changing XML source)? Is there perhaps a way to selectively turn off XML validation for files matching a specific pattern?

    You can right click on effected files, go to properties and mark them as “derived”. Then right click on your project and go to MyEclipse and “remove all validation markers”.

    Thanks, that works to a point but doesn’t seem to get preserved in project files. It would be nice if this setting persisted when another MyElipse IDE developer imports my project – but it doesn’t seem to. Any other ideas?

    Unfortunately not, we have file a P1 enhancement for 5.0 to replace this hacky solution with an official way to avoid validation on certain files or folders.
