I’m in the editor on a long line such that I move the scrollbar so I can see the end of the line. If I hit “Enter” and the edit is such that a scrollbar is no longer needed in the editor, the scrollbar goes away.
The problem is that the editor doesn’t automatically shift. I have to manually set the cursor back to the begining of the line in order to shift the editor back.
The Eclipse Java editor used to do this a long time ago, but was fixed.
Thanks for the post. I have entered your report in our problem tracking software. I assume you are referring to the JSP editor. So I ran a quick test and am unable to replicate the problem on my Win2K/JDK1.4.1/E2.1 configuration. The test case has one line that is 90 chars long that results in editor with horizontal scrollbar. If I insert a return in the middle of the line it wraps to the next line with cursor at line 1 or appropriate indentation level and scrollbar is removed.
What OS, JDK, and version of Eclipse are you using?
