After installing Darkest Theme plug-in, on exiting Eclipse I get a dialog saying an error occured , suggesting consulting the log file for more info.

    Attached
    – Start.log which is a fresh log created upon starting Eclipse.
    – End.log fresh log ( deleted it after startup) created when exiting eclipse.

I’m using QNX distribution which is based on Neon.

    mcharest,

I’m assuming this happens every single time you exit Eclipse?

The log seems to indicate that there’s something wrong with the console / Terminal view. To help us ascertain this, can you:
    1) Start Eclipse
    2) Close Console and Terminal views
    3) Shut down
    4) Start Eclipse – now neither of those views should be open in this session, because you closed them in the last
    5) Shut down

Do you see the error dialog at step #3 and step #5?

Apologies for the inconvenience caused, we hope to be able to get to the bottom of this with your notes; we are trying the QNX distribution ourselves as well.

Did see the error at #3
Did NOT see the error at #5

    Next

    – Restore view Console
    – Shutdown Eclipse, saw the error.
    – Restart
    – Remove View Console
    – Shutdown, got an error
    – Restart (no console view present )
    – Shutdown, no error
    – Restart
    – Restore terminal view
    – Shutdown, no error

So seems specific to console view.

If you want to get The QNX distribution the simplest is to create an account on qnx’s site. Once that’s done go to http://community.qnx.com/sf/frs/do/viewRelease/projects.ide/frs.ide_7_0.7_0_ga . There you should be able to download IDE7.0 GA. This is the eclipse related stuff only. You would not be able to compile QNX program or use any of the QNX specify plugin. On startup it will complain that it is missing licenses, but the Eclipse part is fully functional. On first startup make sure you run a “Check For Updates” to get the latest stuff.

I’m running this on XUbuntu which Adwaita-dark theme.

    Thanks.

@mcharest, thanks for the detailed information! I managed to replicate the issue locally so we are going to target it for a future release.

    Thanks!

For your information, CI8 does not seems to contain a fix for this issue.
