support-swapnaModeratorHi,
Sorry that you are seeing this issue. Thank you for sharing the stacktrace. I ran few quick checks on Eclipse/MyEclipse with inline search in a Java editor and do not see the reported problem.
Can you please give us some more details to help us investigate further?
1. Which version of Eclipse are you working with? Also share your OS and version details.
2. Are you seeing the error only when trying to search and replace or even the search fails?
3. What language are you coding in? Delete the contents of the .log file, restart the IDE, replicate the error and share with us the complete log file (rename the extension to .txt and attach it here)Apologies for inconvenience caused.

CrustySailorParticipantHi! Thanks for your quick reply!
1) I’m using Eclipse 4.20 on Windows 10 (21H2)
2) The error occurs when pressing the hotkey to open the inline search. The inline search then fails to open. This only happens sometimes. A restart of eclipse solves the problem. But the error is occurring pretty frequently, so having to restart eclipse every time is not a solution.
3) I am coding in Java.See the attached log file.
Kind regards

support-swapnaModeratorHi,
Thank you for sharing the details and the log file.
DevStyle has some incompatibilities with older versions of Eclipse. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about it. I suggest you upgrade to the latest Eclipse 2023-06 for smooth working experience with DevStyle.Apologies for inconvenience caused. Do let us know if you have any further questions.
