I just installed MyEclipse 7.5 for the first time with all default settings and ran Hello World app ok, but when I enter for (int number : array) statement I get “syntax error ‘for each’ statements are only available if source level is 1.5” Isn’t default 1.6 JRE backward compatible, or am I misunderstanding how execution environment works?

I could not replicate this at my end. I was able to use that syntax successfully in a plain java class.
Can you give some information on this issue?
1. Can you copy paste your installation details here? You can get them from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details.
2. Also can you give us the details of myeclipse.ini file located at your installation dir?
3. What is the type of project that you are working on?
