I really doubt that I”m coming back fellas! I keep reposting other issues from version 5 and they still aren’t answered. The tech asks me the same damn question each time, I supply the answer and then they never come back.

You’ve just lost a long time loyal customer!

    mangelo,

I apologize if you haven’t been having a positive experience with our support in the past. It’s our goal to ensure that every post is answered in a very timely manner but I see from the timestamp on your post that this did not happen here. I’ve made sure our company management realizes that we’re not meeting our objectives here and I know they’ll ensure we do something about it.

But now that I’m engaged here I’d really like to know what issues you’re experiencing with 9.0. Overall, we’ve had very positive reviews on it thus far so I’d really like to dig into what issues you’re seeing so we can figure out what’s going on and get them fixed for you. Can you give me a brief description of what’s going on?

I can tell you one problem we ran into immediately upon trying to use 9.0 on an existing project.

We used 8.6 to do our project and have several large web service classes. In 9.0 we have to reboot the app after each generation of each web service with generation from the java code as it runs out of memory after each of them when trying to do a second one. The amount of memory shown in use with the show heap space is almost double what it was with 8.6. We have unloaded over half of the preinstalled modules to where we are down to just what we use and it still runs really high on memory.

Overall, not really impressed with the release, it seems to be slower in generation and general operation than 8.6 and so far have not seen anything that adds any value for us. We are trying to find a download of the 8.6 to put back on the system we had crash, but have not been able to find that download.

    mongonv,

I realize how frustrating an issue like this can be. Unfortunately, you may be running into a performance issue that we are dealing with on the JavaScript front in workspaces which have a very large amount of JS resources; without knowing more about your projects though, it is hard to say.

Please see this FAQ item for more information and possible workarounds: https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/troubleshooting-memory-amp-performance-issues/

If you still need the links to 8.6.1, please send an email to support@genuitec.com with your subscription key and code and let them know which OS(es) you need the installer for.

We are committed to improving performance and efficiency of MyEclipse across the board and you should be seeing several enhancements in this area in the coming releases. If you have any other issues that are preventing you from using our tools; please let me know.
