I was previously running Eclipse 8.5 M2 release with no major problems. This morning, I tried using Pulse to update to the 8.5 production release and received an error in Pulse: “detected dependency conflicts in updates”.

    – On looking at the forum, I saw a suggestion to “Reinstall then run” my Eclipse profile. This made matter considerably worse. I reveived the following error information in a dialogue:
This profile can not be resolved because required software could not be located.
Could not locate installable unit: com.genuitec.pulse2.client.targetcfg.feature.group 0.0.0
Could not locate installable unit: com.genuitec.pulse2.client.targetcfg.dropins.feature.group 0.0.0
    etc…

Now Eclipse will also not run with a dialogue stating “The MyEclipse executable launcher was unable to locate it companion shared launcher.”

So currently unable to do any work. Help.

    EDIT – ISSUE RESOLVED:

I went to the web installer, downloaded, pointed to old workspace and I’m back up and running again. The old installation is still broken but the new 8.5 is running fine so far with just a few plug-ins to reinstall. Just happy to get back to work.

    djcut,
Can you try reinstalling MyEclipse? The following are the steps –
    1. Run the MyEclipse uninstaller.
    2. Make sure the MyEclipse Install Directory has been completely removed
2.1. Pulse Install Directory, on XP it’s under C:\Program Files in \Pulse or \Genuitec, and on Vista it’s under <USER.HOME>\AppData\Local and then under \Pulse or \Genuitec again
    3. Then make sure the pulse2.locator file under <USER.HOME> is erased as well
    4. After this, please reinstall MyEclipse

Also, refer to the following links –

Let me know if that helps.
