Version: MyEclipse for Spring Version: 10.0.0
    OS: Windows 7 32 bit

spring 10 is very slow. I tried updating config file and some other suggested solution but didn’t help much. I didn’t install anything specifics except the default comes with spring edition.
Please let me know how the performance can be improved.
    Thanks,

    zaman1111,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue.

    1. Can you please update to version 10.1 from the Configuration Center ? Go to MyEclipse Configuration Center > Software > Software Available. Select 10.1, apply the changes and follow the wizard. Restart the IDE when it prompts to and switch to a new workspace.

    2. Take a look at this link for performance issues :
    https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/troubleshooting-memory-amp-performance-issues/

If you have already changed the heap to the suggested value and it has no effect then you could try increasing your heap beyond 768m and see if that improves the performance.

Also look at the second section for how you can change the JS settings to improve performance. I would suggest you move to the Basic mode.

    3. You can also stop MyEclipse updating the maven index at startup. Go to the Maven4MyEclipse preferences page and deselect the “Download repository index updates on startup” option.

    4. If you are still seeing the performance issues can you please elaborate where exactly you are seeing a slow down? Is it while working with specific editors or during startup?

Let us know how it works for you.

I followed the direction as suggested: Current version is 10.1; -Xmx968m; JS in passive mode; Changed Maven4MyEclipse preferences. Nothing seems to be helping.
My slowness is both at startup and also while working with the editor. For example, trying to open a file or browsing directory. Please let me know what’s causing the slowness.

    zaman1111,

    1. Can you please share with us the Installation Details from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details ? Paste them here for us.

    2. When did you first start noticing the slowness? Is it right from ME 10 installation or later ? Did anything change in your system around that time ?

    3. Can you change the JS mode to “Turned off” just to see if it makes any difference?

    4. Can you also try a new workspace to rule out any issues associated with the workspace ?

    5. Are you using a 64 bit install of MyEclipse ? If yes then you could try installing the 32 bit to see if its any better.

Let us know how it works for you.
