I’ve got several projects with java code and a new project for only the UML Model. When I create a UML2 Model in the project for UML I am able to drag and drop classes onto the model and create Sequence Diagrams based on the Reverse Engineered model.

The problem is that, when I exit MyEclipse and restart it at a later time, I am unable to open the *.uml fiel while the *.umldi file is there.

I’ve been able to consistently repeat the process.

    Am I missing a step?

    ifdhanson,

I could replicate this issue. I have filed a PR with the dev team.

I would just like to clarify your problem – you mean that you can’t open the .uml file when the .umldi file is open? If so, that is by design as both editors will be simultaneously working on the same model and this could cause corruption.

Is there any reason why you want the .uml file open while the .umldi file is open? Typically you should not be using the .uml file at all (and make all your modifications through the .umldi file in the graphical editor). Are you making modifications directly in the .uml file?
