Is there anybody in there?Does anybody know how to:
1. Install software locally from a downloaded zip file into MyEclipse ?
2. Have Pulse use the domain name (not the ip address)?
3. use some google or other proxy to get between Pulse one-IP-ness and Google’s multi-server-IP-per-domain-nessPlease Answer.
My business depends on using both products.On the surface, the Pulse tool seems useful, but I have found it unreliable. So many of the key packages that production sites rely upon (why we pay for MyEclipse instead of using the freeware) fail on simple issues like bundles with incorrect information.
I suspect many of the integration issues are caused by outside parties like Google being inconsistent or sloppy from one day to the next; however, it would be nice if someone wrote an automatic script that tries out critical installations daily. Think of it as an incremental build for updating….
All in all, I’ve been happy with MyEclipse’s products over the years. Please consider this suggestion as constructive from a customer who wants the product to continue to shine.

Can you retry adding Google plugin for Eclipse. I have successfully added to my ME 9.0 profile. Please see the attached screenshots which are self explanatory. I am afraid currently there is no provision to change the uri through pulse. If you are behind firewall / proxy, I suggest you add your proxy details to pulse. You can turn on your [Caps Lock] key. Next open pulse. This would prompt you to add proxy details. Please click [Yes] and follow the wizard. Else you can add the plugin through MyEclipse Configuration Center as described in the screenshots. In case you are behind firewall / proxy, please enter your proxy details here – from MyEclipse IDE menu options click on Window > Preferences > General > Network Connections.

I just tried installing the Google Plugin via Pulse into the production version of ME 9.0. I get the same errors at the top of this Topic. Lots of files not found on the server. Probably due to the wrong IP addresses coded into the bundles.
I did successfully install this plugin into ME 9.0M1 a couple months ago, so I suspect the issue is some inconsistency.

1. copy and paste your installation details. Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details.
2. Are you behind firewall / proxy?
I have reverified by adding Google Plugin via pulse. Have you added this plugin using the Quick-Add Popular Plug-ins? If not, I would recommend you give it a try. Alternatively, download the local archive site from here – http://code.google.com/eclipse/docs/install-from-zip.html and add to your ME profile. Here are the steps –
Steps :
1) Downloaded google plugin for 3.6 from http://code.google.com/eclipse/docs/install-from-zip.html
2) Unzip the zip file
3) Open ME 9.0, goto help -> SAWC/MyEclipse Configuration center
4) Go to software tab and click Add Site
5) Click Add from Local Folder and browse the folder that is created in step 2
6) Add name e.g. Google
7) expand Google under personal sites and right click on ‘Google plugin for Eclipse 3.6’ which is under Plugin and click Add to profile
8) click on Apply 1 change in Pending changes view
9) Update and finally restart MEBest.

When I did the “Google Plugin for Eclipse” in the “Quick-Add” there is a blue circle with a ‘g’ in it. Activating this to add creates the errors at the top of the Topic. Note, however, you get four licenses instead of two.
When I retraced my steps and made a local copy as you decribed, I get just two licenses to accept. Just updating the “Google Plugin for Eclipse 3.6” does work. Adding all the plugins for the “Google Plugin for Eclipse” (blue circle) seems to include additional software that ultimately triggers the configuration error.

This is interesting, I am not able to replicate your issue. I tried both pulse and MyEclipse configuration center. You mention that using the quick-add option it lists you 4 certificates, whereas it prompted me to accept only 2 licenses as shown in the screenshot above. Can you attach screenshot showing what are these certificates for?

I would be happy to upload a few screenshots. Unfortunately, I do know how to include a local file image into this reply interface. The “Img” button seems to want a Web URL image instead of a local file. Please advise how you got your screenshots shown above into the reply system.

I got the GWT plugin to install and was busy catching up on the missed days of work.
I found the add site-> “local site” checkbox in Pulse. It will install successfully.
Just never click the update checkbox on the troublesome URL site when doing any other Pulse updates.
Not sure how I can deal with future updates. Would really like to stay up to date, but not manually downloading the zip files all the time.
I do not dare re-test any of the updates at this time.I am NOT behind any firewalls nor proxies that I know of, but suspect that Google (or other plug-in suppliers) are behind the equivalent of proxies. They are able to publish one URL for use forever and yet move the files internally.
It might still be nice of Pulse to use the DNS URI rather then change to an IP address.riddle,

Since you have added the plugin using pulse, future updates would be shown under software updates available under MyEclipse Configuration Center > Dashboard. In case you choose to apply, select the relevant update and click on [Apply 1 change] under pending changes section.
