HI

Like someone else on this forum, I have had difficulties updating to 7.1. The update process ran the first time but complained it hadn’t got some of the JARs (one of the struts ones, I think). I ran it again. Again it complained about failed JARs but this time, after restarting, it is telling me that I have version 7.1. So how do I know whether this is a genuine 7.1 with everything installed ?

I try to run the update again and it isn’t very smart – it just re-fetches the Jars all over again, even though some of them were apparently successful last time through.

Should I download a new myeclipse 7.1 in full. I don’t really want to have to re-install all my plugins.

PS – I am running behind one of those NTLM authenticated proxies that caused so many problems with 7.0.

I’m using Ubuntu 8.04 LTS (I mis-posted the OS version) and having similar issues. It simply will not install correctly (or run after it’s installed). See thread at:

Sorry that you are having trouble. About failsafe, when you try to install plugins/updates from a 3rd party update site, many times their sites are down or temporarily unavailable and it prevents users from installing the plug-in. In MyEclipse 7.0 and above, we try to prevent your plugin installation/update from failing and that includes a failover mechanism where-in if you can’t get the plugin you are looking for, we try to get the exact same plugin from our own repository. In this case it seems that both the update site and our own repository is failling.

Can you tell me, if you are behind a firewall/proxy? What is your hardware configuration and do you have un-interrupted internet access?
