I tried to install VSS and Fatjar plugins for eclipse with myEclipse 7.1.1. I tried using the Help –> Software updates –> Add/Remove Software from myEclipse –> click on subversive plugins –> add archive –> select org.vssplugin_1.6.2.jar or net.sf.fjep.fatjar_0.0.31.jar it gives a message

No repository found at jar file.

I evern tried unzipping the file into C:\Program Files\Genuitec\Common\plugins and restart myeclipse and it does not pick up the plugin. This worked in version 6.1 of myEclipse but not when I upgraded. Clicking on Help –> About myEclipse –> Plug-in details –> does not display the plugin.

How do I install the VSS plug in for myEclipse version 7.1.1? Any tips will be much appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Monisha

    Monisha,

Let me clarify that MyEclipse doesn’t provide an integrated support for VSS. I have researched on the net, and I came across http://sourceforge.net/projects/vssplugin/ , if you look for org.vssplugin_1.6.2.jar, http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=733814 mentions support for Eclipse 3.3 – Europa.
Since this is 3rd party plugin, Myeclipse/Genuitec team is not responsible for the validity of the site, it is best if you can contact the 3rd party vendors directly for the validity of the download/update site.
Steps to install the plugin would be simple –
    1. Download the zip from the download site
    2. unzip to your [MyEclipse installation directory]\dropins\plugins. If you don’t have a plugins folder under dropins, please create it.

    Hope this helps.

Did this work for the previous poster??

It does not work for my setup. I have MyEclipse 7.1.1 and VSS 1.6.2. I dropped the org.vssplugin_1.6.2 folder into C:\Program Files\Genuitec\MyEclipse 7.1\dropins\plugins, then restarted MyEclipse.

When I go into Windows/Preferences/Team, I do NOT show any VSS options, only the default CVS option. I also have no VSS plugin related options on the context menu when I right-click on a project and select team.

    Please advise.

    Jeff
