ryandagueParticipantWhen I hover my mouse over a variable, the tooltip shows correctly. However, when I press F2 to set focus to it, the background is white and the text is hard to read.

support-swapnaModeratorryan,
Sorry that you are seeing this issue. Thank you for the screenshots.
I could not replicate the problem at my end with Eclipse Oxygen for C/C++. Attached is the screenshot of the tool tip I see at my end on Windows 10.Can you please clarify if you are using Windows Classic theme (System wide)?

ryandagueParticipantI don’t believe I am using anything but the default windows theme. How can I verify which theme I am using? It seems the windows theme dialog is no longer available on windows 10.

ryandagueParticipantI believe I have resolved this issue. I went to Preferences -> C/C++ -> Editor -> ‘Source hover background’ and checked the ‘System Default’ checkbox. The color now shows as a dark gray.

adrianbl32ParticipantHi,
I have the same problem (I use the Windows dark theme), and Preferences -> C/C++ -> Editor -> ‘Source hover background’ set to ‘System Default’ works, but it is set back to default each time I restart Eclipse.
Is there a way to keep this option to ‘System Default’ ?Thanks.

support-swapnaModeratorHi,
I see the problem with ‘System Default’ setting not being persisted on restart with Eclipse 2020-03. I have filed a report with the dev team to look into it. We will keep you posted when the fix is out.
Apologies for inconvenience caused.
