Mostly likely not “on the heals”. We need to stabalize 3.8 GA, then evaluate where we stand with 2.8. At the least we might just stabalize the Beta 2 release and make that our final release, but as our 2.x downloads dwindle to nothing and 3.x downloads shoot to the moon, it really seems to be obvious where we need to stick our resources.

Given that it might take a month of work to stabalize/finalize 2.8 that is an entire month of ignoring 3.8 that we could be polishing and such and getting a product out that our customers are demanding. It really depends on what management decides.

OK, just a note to keep in mind – those of us that are using IBM products based on Eclipse, are still tied to Eclipse 2.1.x (for example, Rational’s XDE Developer for Java). I’m using the 3.0 release of Eclipse vanilla (with MyEclipse), but I’m also using XDE Developer, and there’s a definite need to have access to the MyEclipse tools in both areas.

Otherwise, I entirely understand! Keep up the good work!
