Accessing MyEclipse Perspectives and Views
MyEclipse features are most easily accessed from any MyEclipse application developer perspective. These perspectives provide quick access to all MyEclipse features. The image below provides an annotated view of the default MyEclipse perspective's feature organization. To open other MyEclipse perspectives, select Window>Open Perspective and selet any one of the MyEclipse choices.
The MyEclipse Explorer view is the default explorer in the MyEclipse perspective. This view provides quick access to additional files relevant to your project. This explorer view also contains advanced search capabilities. Type filter text and specify whether the search is a regular expression, a filename, file content, and if the search text is case sensitive.
The filter drop-down retains your search history and remembers your filter tool settings for previous searches.
Two tools common to all perspectives are the Open in Explorer and Send to Mail Recipient tools. When you select a project or folder in the Explorer view, use the Open in Explorer tool to view the project folders and files in your system file explorer. The Send to Mail Recipient tool allows you to select files in your project explorer, and send them to a recipient via your email client.
You can also access these tools from the right-click context menu. Right-click a folder or file in the project explorer, and select MyEclipse>Open in Explorer or Send to Mail Recipient from the menu.
Because of screen real-estate limitations, it is not possible to integrate all MyEclipse views and editors within the MyEclipse perspectives. To view all MyEclipse views, select Window>Show View>Other from the menu, and expand any MyEclipse view. An example list of views is shown below.
To make changes to what appears for a selected perspective, choose Window>Customize Perspective from the menu. Select the checkboxes on each tab for items you want to appear in the perspective you currently have open.
